"Atlas of Copenhagens"
BAS teacher Professor Deane Alan Simpson is involved in a presentation on Monday October 28th at 18:00 at DogA in Oslo as part of the Oslo Architecture Triennale. The event is a preview of a book called the "Atlas of Copenhagens" which looks critically at urban sustainability discourse in general, and Copenhagen's position within it.
From Oslo Architecture Triennale webpage:
"The School of Architectuer, Copenhagen, presents new research on sustainable cities during Oslo Arcitecture Triennale, the Nordic region’s biggest architecture festival.
This year the theme is entitled ‘Behind the Green Door – Architecture and the desire for sustainability’, and this will be addressed at the special preview event: “Atlas of Copenhagens”, where Danish and international architects and researchers will discuss the mechanisms of sustainable city measurement and the position of Copenhagen as the ‘Eco-Metropolis of the World’.
By examining Copenhagen’s leading position within international sustainable city ranking indexes, the Atlas enters into the controversies related to city branding through ecourban values. What is a sustainable city, and can such a city be measured?"
