Diploma 2014: " PRE REQUIEM" by Jostein Skaale
Giving our loved ones a respectful farewell
At Haukeland university hospital 11,800 employees strive
to give the best possible treatment and care to their patients.
Every year they treat nearly 600,000 patients, but some of them
take their last breath at Haukeland. Around 1000 people die here each year.
This brings thousands of bereaved to this facility
- to say their last farewell - before the deceased are closed in a coffin
and brought further to cremation or other funeral rituals.
This project aims to be a research of the space facilitating
parting rituals - in our modern and multicultural society. Read the whole project description here.
