Piksel is an international festival for electronic art and technological freedom. Part workshop, part festival, it is organized in Bergen, Norway,and involves participants from more than a dozen countries exchanging ideas, coding, presenting art and software projects, doing workshops, performances and discussions on the aesthetics and politics of free technologies & art. 1 week workshop at the Bergen School of Architecture. Two groups worked on longer spanning projects, one a portal at Fisketorvet and one physical activation in Møhlenpris. The rest of the students divided into two groups and engaged in situations at the school: replacing a small staircase and adding a bathing-structure to the waterfront. The workshop was arranged in a collaboration between the Bergen School of Architecture and the Norwegian Steel Association.
Do you need to know how to use the elektronic maps at BAS library? This lecture is about electronic maps, and Qgis, things you need to know as an architect tudent at BAS.
You should attend with a pc/mac, you will benefit more if you have some electronic maps on you computer and the Qgis software.
This workshop is only open to BAS students.

The Lecture “Care” will discuss the role and responsibilities of architects, students and architectural education in areas subject to change and deprivation. Robert will show socially engaged projects that work with contexts as diverse as London, West Belfast and India. He will also share the professional and ethical issues raised by his current involvement with the refugee crises in Europe including with the recently demolished refugee camp in Calais known as “The Jungle”.
