The term ''sustainable development', despite its omnipresence today, is a relatively young notion. First properly defined at the beginning of the eighties, it made possible for 'environmentalism' to leave behind its counter-cultural roots and infiltrate main stream discourses. BAS was awarded with The Diploma Supplement (DS) Label during the Internationalization Conference in Trondheim on 5. March 2014. This label is awarded to Higher Education Institutions which deliver a Diploma Supplement to all graduates in accordance with the model developed by the European Commission, Council of Europe and UNESCO. BAS also had to provide evidence of best practice in the public information relating to the Diploma Supplement on our website, and to present examples of actual Diploma Supplements that have been issued to our graduates. The Ministry of Education and Research in Norway has encouraged all institutions of Higher Education to aim for this recognition, and BAS is proud to be on of 5 new institutions that were awarded with this label in 2014.
