Nicolai Bo Andersen is an architect, Professor MSO and Head of the Cultural Heritage, Transformation and Conservation Programme at the Royal Danish Academy, working in between the fields of education, research and artistic development. A critical question is how embodied first-person experience of the built environment may inspire ecological awareness and secure the natural capital on a finite Earth. The focal point is the phenomenological qualities of architecture. The direct, embodied experience of materials, tectonics and space. Texture and gravity. Quietness and movement. Light and shadow. The aim is to unite material qualities, a strong spatial identity, and low resource consumption in a sustainable building culture.
