Introduksjon

A self-build project as an alternative to todays single family housing and plot development model. The project is an empathic way to develop a self-build community in relation to nature as a site specific and subtile architecture.

CONCEPTUALIZATION: A HOUSE, INSPIRED BY NATURE

An exploration into what a contemporary Norwegian house could be in relation to a self-builder. An emphatic take on nature and landscape with a vernacular inspired structure. Both socially, and in terms of a construction. The project came to be about user integration. To partake in the act of building, as this phase have a lot of unused potential. It could be a good phase to integrate the user to allow for an ownership, while establishing a socially sustainable living environment. Why we build, can be understood as a need for a holistic approach towards residential development.
